Unto him be glory in the church by Jesus Christ throughout all ages.
--Eph. 3:21

At Shaft United Methodist Church we believe in making disciples. In Acts Chapter 4 is the account of Peter and John as they were led before the Sanhedrin. These men had spent much time with Jesus. Jesus intentionally spent time with these men (discipling them).

These followers of Christ were filled with the Holy Spirit. When asked, “By what power or what name did you do this?” (the healing of the crippled beggar). God’s word declares in Verse 8, “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them…”

They were daring: When commanded “not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus… Peter and John replied, ‘ Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.’”

We believe in being and making disciples who are filled with Holy Spirit and are daring in their approach to being witnesses about what we have seen and heard.
